Alexander Harris went to work for Ronson Corporation shortly after the company developed the first pocket lighter in 1913. Harris worked his way up the ladder and became the company's second president in 1940. During World War II, the company developed new products to help with the war effort, such as flame throwers and bomb fuses. Harris retired in 1953.* Deceased
