The 2011 Horatio Alger Awards Induction Ceremony was held on April 8, 2011. The Association celebrated sixty-four years of recognizing outstanding Americans for overcoming adversity and achieving success while being the leading provider of need-based college scholarships to young people throughout the United States of America. These individuals' life stories serve as a source of inspiration and hope for our nation's young people in demonstrating that opportunity still knocks in America. This rousing two-hour program features the stories of a distinguished group of Americans who demonstrate that anything is possible in this great land of opportunity.

On Wednesday, November 21, 2007 the Horatio Alger Military Scholarship was featured on the Fox Business Channel. The segment featured live interviews with Asssociation Member Ambassador George L. General Broadcasts
Previous Annual Horatio Alger Awards have been featured in national broadcasts on PBS highlighting the accomplishments of distinguished Americans who have overcome hardships to achieve their dreams. The program was broadcast to the more than 345 PBS stations nationwide. Several corporate and private sponsors helped the Association reach millions of America's youth at risk through this PBS television broadcast by serving as underwriters of the program. The video and curriculum guide are made available to all 63,000 primary and secondary schools in the United States.
