National Scholars Meet their US Senators on Capitol Hill

Each U.S. Senator was invited to meet the Horatio Alger National Scholars from their home state in a reception at the Senate Hart Building on April 3, 2008. The award-winning high school students mingled with Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, a Horatio Alger Member and sponsor of the event, as well as other US Senators who made time to visit. Senator Hagel took questions from the scholars and group photographs. A member of the US Military served as the event announcer. Additionally, groups of scholars were escorted to their US Senator's offices for a meeting and photograph.
