Special Horatio Alger Association concert featuring Reba McEntire and The Tenors
Friday, October 17, 2014, at the Holland Performing Arts Center, Omaha, Nebraska.
This concert is organized in support of the educational programs of the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation and the Horatio Alger Association. The concert is also part of an ongoing series of Horatio Alger State of the Association meetings that are being hosted around the country. In addition to raising awareness about the Association’s mission and educational programs, these gatherings are intended to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Association’s scholarship programs, representing more than $100 million awarded in need based scholarships. We are deeply grateful to Walter Scott, Jr., President of the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund, for sponsoring this concert.
The Summit will take place in conjunction with a State of the Association meeting and special concert at the historical John B. Murphy Memorial Auditorium. The concert will feature Shelley MacArthur, renowned Chicago vocalist and Life Partner of Association Board Member William F. Farley, and George Perris, international classical/pop crossover tenor and Horatio Alger International Ambassador. Mrs. MacArthur and Mr. Perris will be accompanied by Chicago’s Rich Daniels, musical director, and The City Lights Orchestra. State of the Association meetings are organized throughout the United States and Canada in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Horatio Alger Association’s scholarship programs. These meetings provide a unique opportunity to unite Horatio Alger Members and Scholars and share information about the mission of the Association.
