Apply for a Horatio Alger Association Scholarship
The Horatio Alger Association has closed its application process for seniors from the Class of 2014 (Students starting college in the fall of 2014) except for those students from Idaho, Louisiana and Montana. Applications from Idaho, Louisiana, and Montana will be accepted from January 15 - April 15, 2014. For all other state scholarship programs, the Association will be announcing recipients in early 2014.
To apply for the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs, the following items must be completed by April 15, 2014:
- Online application.
- Support Form. Online form completed to support the adversities listed by the applicant.
- High School transcript. Uploaded or mailed.
- Online Certifications Form. Must be completed online by the applicant's high school counselor.
- Income Verification. Applicants must provide a copy of the first two pages of their parent/guardian's 2012 or 2013 (if available) individual federal tax return (1040, 1040A, 1040 EZ or 1099 SSA-Social Security Tax Form) or tax transcript. (View sample tax return)

Idaho scholarship recipients must pursue a bachelor's degree at the University of Idaho (Coeur d'Alene or Moscow campus only) or Lewis-Clark State College (Coeur d'Alene and Lewiston campus only) or students may start their studies at North Idaho College for up to two years and then transfer to the University of Idaho or Lewis-Clark State College.
Louisiana scholarship recipients must plan to attend and enroll in a university/college in the state of Louisiana.
Montana scholarship recipients must purse a bachelor’s degree at either the University of Montana or Montana State system schools (see below for a complete listing of schools).
